India offers a vast range of textile traditions & we have designed an exciting textile tour itinerary of Rajasthan that showcases art of Rajasthani Bandhani, intricate block printing, the use of natural dyes, the exquisite beauty of Kantha quilting, and the craftsmanship behind rug making. Not only this but our tour offers a unique opportunity to explore magnificent palaces, forts, and indulge in the luxurious hospitality of heritage hotels steeped in tradition.

Itinerary:

On arrival at Delhi airport one of our executives will be there to greet you and transfer you to the hotel. A welcome dinner and overnight in Delhi.

After breakfast drive to Agra. Arrive and visit the Agra Fort and Mehtab garden.

Early morning visit of the Taj Mahal later drive to Ranthambore. In between visit Abhaneri Chand Baori. Overnight in Ranthambore.

Early in the morning have a Jungle Safari. The national park of Ranthambore is an exhilaratingly heritage site, with its fort and ruins to jeep around on safari to see tigers and other wildlife in their natural habitat. After Safari we will have breakfast and visit village Woman Craft. Later drive to Jaipur. In Jaipur a demonstration will be given by Kalpana Recycling who are well known for recycling waste fabric into various paper products. Overnight in Jaipur.

After breakfast we will drive through the old city and onto Amer Fort. On the way we will stop for a photo at Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace). Visit the hall of public and private audience, Mirror Palace and royal courtyard where many Bollywood movies have been filmed. On the way back stop at the Anokhi museum of hand printing. Jaipur is famous for their Precious stone cutting and polishing in the world, Silk and Woollen rugs weaving by hand and vegetable colour block printing on cloths. Overnight in Jaipur

Today we will enjoy a Natural Dye and Handblock Workshop. A vegetarian lunch will be provided during the workshop. Overnight in Jaipur.

Today we will visit an elephant farm near Jaipur. We will have the exciting opportunity to feed and take our creative skills to a whole new level by painting an elephant. Yes, you did read that right you will get to paint on an actual elephant. In the evening you will feast on a scrumptious dinner at a private haveli now converted into a heritage hotel. Overnight in Jaipur.

After breakfast we will drive to Deogarh. On arrival check into the hotel then it’s free time to take a leisurely stroll trough the local markets or partake in one of the activities the hotel has on offer. The stunningly preserved palace of yesteryear is hard to resist, walking around all its nook and crannies just exploring. On the rooftop looking back towards the palace makes the perfect spot for a selfie.

After breakfast drive to Udaipur. On the way stop at Saas Bahu Temple. Arrive and check into the hotel. Later go to Monsoon Palace for sunset. Overnight in Udaipur.

After breakfast we will then immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of the loveable cheeky Sonny Kapoor and the gang as we visit and have lunch at Rawla Khempur, better known as ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’. Where the movie was filmed. Overnight in Udaipur

After breakfast we will visit the city palace complex and museum. Afterwards enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola. Return to the hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure or for those who are interested can visit a miniature art and painting school. Udaipur is known for miniature art and painting. Overnight in Udaipur.

After breakfast drive to Jodhpur. Stopping further towards Ranakpur explore the remarkable white marble Jain temples. Continue drive to Jodhpur. Arrive and check into hotel. Overnight in Jodhpur

Begin the day with driving to Jodhpur. Iconically known for the indigo washed walls of the old city. Thus, Jodhpur is known as the Blue City. We will explore the old city with its winding streets and open squares. Jodhpur is particularly known for its leather and embroidered textiles. We will take a heritage walk in old city and see firsthand the daily lives of people, the indigo washed walls and narrow lanes. Overnight in Jodhpur.

We will spend the day exploring the Jodhpur fort, Jaswant Thada Cenotaph and strolling in the local Clock Tower Market before returning to the hotel. Rest of the day at your leisure. Dinner in old city. Overnight in Jodhpur.

After breakfast we will head out to one of the local villages to watch the local artisans as they weave dhurrie rugs(cotton) by hand. Lunch with a weaver’s family near Salavas Village. Return to hotel in the afternoon. Prior to returning to our hotel we will visit a textile shop. Overnight in Jodhpur.

After breakfast drive to Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is a fascinating fort town surrounded by the Thar Desert, it has a quieter atmosphere and breathtaking architecture. A great place to end your Rajasthan textile experience. In the evening we will go and visit the intriguing abandoned ghost town of Khaba for the sunset point.

A sewing workshop in Jaisalmer. A vegetarian lunch will be provided during the workshop. There will be fabric available for sewing your special item along with an opportunity to shop for textiles, Kantha quilts and other local artisan items. Overnight in Jaisalmer.

After breakfast we will tour the fort which is one of the few living forts in the world, with a quarter of city’s population residing within its walls. Strolling through the historic twists and turns of the internal streets of the old town with its shops, restaurants and traditional havelis is like stepping back in time. A visit to Patwa and Nathmal Haveli. We will also visit lake Gadisar. Overnight in Jaisalmer.

Early morning after breakfast we will fly for Delhi. And from Delhi we will fly back to our homes.
